Yes, OFF!® insect repellents can be used on your face. Apply the insect repellent on the palm of your hand and rub it onto your face. Do not apply insect repellents to your eyes or mouth, or to the hands of young children.

We do not recommend using OFF!® insect repellents on animals. Pets tend to lick themselves and could ingest the repellent.

You can use OFF!® insect repellents along with a sunscreen. However, insect repellents can reduce the efficacy of some sunscreens on the skin.

OFF!® FamilyCare Smooth & Dry will not damage cotton, wool or nylon fabrics. Because of the cornstarch in the formula, a white residue may appear on clothing. This residue can be removed by brushing off or washing clothing regularly. You should avoid applying OFF!® FamilyCare Smooth & Dry on acetate, rayon, spandex or other synthetic fabrics.

OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and PowerPad® Lantern

The refillable repellent pad and candle are specially designed to work together to repel mosquitoes. The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern use an advanced heat-activated pad that, when activated by the heat of the special candle, releases repellent that keeps mosquitoes away from an area up to 15ft. x 15ft. The lantern should be placed upwind for maximum protection.

Both products work the same way. However, the OFF!® Mosquito Lantern is a hanging lantern on a pole, and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp is a tabletop unit. They can be used at the same time. The lamp is ideal for deck or patio protection, while the lantern extends that coverage to your yard's perimeter. Both are designed for outdoor use only.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern will provide protection against mosquitoes for up to four hours with each refill. Each repellent pad is designed to last as long as the candle. When the candle wax is gone, replace both the candle and the pad.

No. The candle is specially designed to fit securely in the candle cup directly beneath the pad for optimal performance between the candle and pad. The size and the burn time of the candle are calculated to equal the release time of the repellent on the pad. When the candle is used up, it indicates that the pad needs to be replaced. The pad and candle should be replaced at the same time. Use of any other candle in the unit could result in a fire hazard.

Yes. The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern candle can be re-lit if used less than four hours. Make sure the candle wick is trimmed to 1/4 inch before lighting.

No. The lantern is permanently affixed to the pole to give you the best performance.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern's pole and shepherds-hook design make it stable even in windy conditions by keeping the lamp and the pole aligned. Be sure to securely insert the pole in the ground and test to ensure the pole does not tip easily. Follow the assembly directions.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern is made of plastic specifically to be used outdoors and can be stored outdoors. However, the pads and candles should not be left in the rain as they are not "waterproof." Small holes in the bottom of the product base drain the water and keep it from collecting in the lens.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern comes with one reusable hanging lantern, three pole segments, three pole connectors, one repellent pad, and one candle.

Yes. The OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern can use the same refills that are used in the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp. Each refill package contains three candles and three repellent pads-providing up to 12 total hours of repellency.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern will provide protection for areas up to 15 ft. x 15 ft. Use two or more lamps or lanterns for larger areas.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern have no fragrance. However, you may notice a slight scent from the pad when it is first lit.

Both the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern are more effective than citronella candles/buckets, while still providing ambiance for your deck/picnic. One lamp or lantern protects an area 15 times greater than a citronella candle/bucket.

The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamps and Lanterns can be used with confidence when following label directions. There is no exposed flame when in use. The repellent pads are also treated with Bitrex®, a bittering agent that is added to help keep kids and pets from ingesting the pads. You should thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water after handling to prevent inadvertently tasting the Bitrex®. Never leave candle unattended.

Bitrex® is one of the most bitter compounds known to humans. Because it is a powder, Bitrex® can stick to hands while handling the pads. Ingesting the extremely small quantities that may stick to fingers is not a health concern but would not taste good. Washing hands after handling the pads will remove the Bitrex® from hands. If you do accidentally get some Bitrex® in your mouth, eating a piece of dark chocolate can help remove the bitter taste.

The pad in the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern could take up to 20 minutes to become sufficiently heated to reach full efficacy. Be sure the unit is positioned upwind from the area to be protected.

Currently, the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern have been formulated to work best against mosquitoes. Do not expect the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and the OFF!® PowerPad® Lantern to repel wasps, hornets, bees, or flies.
